Three Stooges Movie Still image

Still shot from the new The Three Stooges movie.

Eighty-two years after their first film, Soup to Nuts, The Three Stooges story continues. The slapstick comedy remake of The Three Stooges hits US theaters April 13, 2012, promising lots of sapping, punching, and bonking.

While paying homage to the original actions of Larry, Curly and Moe, this new production is modernized by Bobby & Peter Farrelly. The infamous Farrelly Brothers are well known for many comedies, including There’s Something About Mary, Me, Myself & Irene, Dumb and Dumber and Shallow Hal. Those fans of both eras of slapstick should be in for a treat.

The movie stars Sean Hayes (Will & Grace) as Larry, Will Sasso (Happy Gilmore) as Curly, and Chris Diamantopoulos (Wedding Daze) as Moe.

Stooged Photo

I had to Stooge myself...

20th Century Fox launched a movie companion web site that includes movie stills, videos and games (Urine Trouble and Punch a Stooge). You can also upload a photo and “Stooge” yourself (note: some of the stooging elements are based on the new film).

Plenty to keep you busy until the movie premiere, along with….

Tagline: Just Say Moe.

Rating: PG (slapstick action violence and some rude/suggestive humor and language)

Plot: Three toddlers are left at an orphanage and are labeled as “angels from heaven” until a nun receives an eye poke from Moe that shoots her into the next county. Years later, after having left the nuns battered, Larry, Curly and Moe return to rescue the orphanage from closing. They have just 30 days to raise the money, and will seemingly go to any extent necessary.
