This ad from the early ’50s features Woolworth’s Gumdrop Goody Tree. The plastic tree was available in two sizes: 13″ and 7″, and was marketed not just for Christmas, but also birthdays and other holidays.

In 1950 the cost for a 13″ tree was 49-cents. The cost for the 7″ tree was 10-cents. Colorful candy (gum drops) could be bought for 20-cents and 9-cents.
