Fun Approach to Decorating with Decals: Do a Door

Kitchen door decorated with burgers & fries diner style decals.

We went crazy with burgers, fries and dogs decals! But, we love it!

We might have OD’d on burgers and fries.

It’s true that we’re big fans of diner food here at Retro Planet, but that’s not the only reason we decorated these doors with our cool burgers, fries and hot dogs wall decals.  Mainly we just wanted to see if we could do it and how it would look.  The results?  Delicious!

For this DIY wall art project, we used the 36″ Fast Burgers and Hot Dogs Wall Decal as the centerpiece.  Then we added a few decals from our Cheeseburgers, Hot Dogs, Fries Wall Decal Sheets (one medium sheet, two large sheets) . . .  then a few more . . and a few more . . . next thing you know – boom!

See the application process and get tips on decorating with wall decals in this fun video.

The double doors gave us plenty of room to work with and applying the decals took about a half hour.  For just $160, we turned a boring pair of doors into a fun decal display.  These particular designs make great retro decorating ideas for a cafeteria or work lunch room.

Maybe “go crazy” isn’t the most practical of tips for applying wall decals, but for us, it worked out just great!  Have you done up a wall or door with decals?  If so, share your stories and send us some pictures.  We’d love to see them!
