Coffee Filter Flower

Who remembers making flowers out of coffee filters in art class? I had forgotten all about this until I ran across Dinah’s DIY Inspired site. Of course, she takes this simple craft project up a notch by integrating old book pages as leaves and arranging them in a beautiful vase.

The great thing about this project is that it’s so inexpensive, and the kids can join in, too.

It’s an easy one, as well. You simply pinch each coffee filter at the center and bunch the “petals”, then set another filter inside of it and repeat until you have the look you want.

If you want to get more creative, though, there are plenty of other great things you can make out of these filters. Dinah also made a coffee filter wreath, and I found this project at Aunt Peaches that teaches you how to dye those filters using craft paint.
