January 4, 1962 – “Mersey Beat” placed The Beatles at the top of the list of a poll for most popular group.

January 8, 1964 – The Beatles were broadcast on television for the first time in the US. Footage was shown of the band on the “Jack Paar Show.”

January 9, 1965 – “Beatles ‘65” reached No. 1 in the US charts, staying there for nine weeks.

January 8, 1966 – The album “Rubber Soul” reached No. 1 in the US, remaining there for six weeks.

January 6, 1968 – “Magical Mystery Tour” went to the top of the US charts and stayed there for eight weeks.
