Retro Tiki Cocktail: Scorpion Bowl
Classic Scorpion Bowl Recipe
Today the Scorpion Bowl is known as a combination of rums, vodkas and fruit juices that are served in Chinese restaurants. A large drink, they are typically served in a large bowl. Slices of fruit, straws and decorative umbrellas are usually added.
According to their Trader Vic’s Las Vegas website, the Trader Vic’s restaurant chain claims to have invented the Scorpion Bowl as a “communal” drink. At 48 ounces, the Scorpion Bowl was intended as a drink to be shared by four people. One thing is for certain: with the flaming volcano bowl, great cocktails and some Polynesian style food—you have the makings for a terrific Tiki party.
