September 24, 1963 – The last edition of Pop Go The Beatles was broadcast.

September 20, 1964 – The Beatles performed the last show of their US tour in New York. They gave a charity performance for United Cerebral Palsy of New York City and Retarded Infant Services.  The show was called “An Evening With The Beatles.”

September 26, 1965 – The film Help! won the Grand Prix at the International Film Festival in Rio.

September 20, 1967 – Filming took place for Magical Mystery Tour at West Malling Air Station In Kent.  The base had been used in World War II by the American Air Force.

September 26, 1968 – The Hey Jude promotional film was broadcast on BBC’s “Top of the Pops.”

September 20, 1969 – In a meeting with Allen Klein and the band, John announced that he would be leaving the group.

September 25, 1970 – Ringo released his album Beaucoups of Blues in the UK.

September 20, 1972 – Cannabis plants were found by the police at the McCartneys’ farm in Scotland.

September 24, 1973 – Ringo’s “Photograph”/”Down and Out” was released in the US.

September 26, 1974Walls and Bridges, John’s album, went on sale in the US.
