Vintage Orange Kist Soda Cooler

Retro Staff |  Comments

Made by the S & S Company, probably around the 1930s to about 1940, this unit is very similar to the Glascock cooler. This model has advertising panels that can be changed to indicate a different soda brand. The other S & S models did not have changeable panels, but rather were permanently painted with a soft drink logo.

The cooler top consists of two lids that are hinged in the center and open out to either side. There is a bottle opener and a cap catcher attached to the front. This cooler held up to 96 chilled 8-ounce bottles of soda. The rack below was capable of holding a few cases of additional soda bottles or to hold the empties. The casters came as standard equipment.
